Listed below are the positions we are currently seeking:

  • The Compliance and Youth Rights Manager assures that The Refuge for Children program and clinical staff are in compliance and adhere to standards of the Indiana State licensing and other accrediting organizations. Requires strong oral and written communication skills, able to maintain confidentiality, and dependable. Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets, charts, and graphs. Requires working evenings and weekends on occasion.

    Must be at least 21 and hold a valid Driver’s License. Must complete a physical examination, drug screen, and extensive criminal background check.

    Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited College or University

    Or;

    A minimum of one (1) Family Teacher Professional Certification; associates degree in social work or a human service area of study from an accredited school.

    Or;

    A minimum of one (1) Family Teacher Professional Certification; associates degree in social work or a human service area of study from an accredited school.

    Or;

    High School diploma and Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a child care worker.

  • Keeping Children Safe

    The Refuge for Children, Inc., in Austin, (Scott County) Indiana has job openings for Overnight Awake Teaching Parents. This full-time position requires a desire and ability to work with children 10-18 classified as dependent, neglected and who may exhibit behavior issues. A person who is patient, compassionate, and able to be objective is the preferred candidate. Attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Basic computer data entry skills are a must. Must be 21 years of age, have at least a high school diploma, a good driving record and be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening. A high level of professionalism is required due to interacting with the public.

This position requires a desire an ability to work with children 10 – 18 classified as dependent, neglected, pre-delinquent, and delinquent who exhibit behavior issue. A person who is patient, compassionate, and able to be objective is the preferred candidate. Attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Must be 21 years of age, have a minimum of a high school diploma, a good driving record and be able to pass an extensive background check and drug screening. The Refuge was formed to give hope to children and their families by providing immediate trauma-informed care for displaced children. The Long-term plans include Foster Care placement, Foster Parent care and support, youth and family enrichment services and family reunification support.
